None of the official store screenshots for Minecraft shows the split-screen view.
What the pages say
- PlayStation Store (PS5): "1 - 4 players", "Supports up to 8 online players with PS Plus"; the description mentions split screen on the same couch.
- Xbox Store: Xbox local co-op (2-4), Online co-op (2-8), Shared/split screen, cross-platform co-op.
- Nintendo eShop US (Switch and Switch 2): single system 1-4, local wireless 2-8, online 2-8; the Switch 2 page mentions split screen.
- Release date: PS5 listing date 2024-10-22; Xbox page 9/20/2017; original release not on store pages read.
- Steam (2026-11-01): a store search for Minecraft returns Minecraft Dungeons, Dungeons II and Legends, not Minecraft itself. PC Minecraft is sold by Mojang, so a Steam row does not apply.
- Xbox Store description (2026-11-01): "sitting on the same couch in split screen"; also "Splitscreen multiplayer is not supported with Vibrant Visuals and the game will switch to Fancy or Simple rendering if multiple players are joined locally."
